Afrojack has praised his friend and recent collaborator Paris Hilton.
The DJ-music producer, who is working on Hilton's upcoming second album, discussed their friendship in a recent interview with Castanet.
"We are really good friends. It's simple," Afrojack explained. "Like people say as producers, 'You can't work with Paris Hilton, you can't work with Pitbull, they're too commercial'. But they're my friends. If a friend asks you, would you produce my album... I'm going to do it.
"She's my friend, I had the time, I was already working on my own album and I like working in a fast pace so I did some tracks on the album, and did a few tracks and helped her out with some connections with other producers and writers. She created some nice magic."
Afrojack also defended Hilton from the criticism she often gets for apparently lacking talent.
"The thing is with her... she's like one of the most talented performers I know," he said. "She may not be a Celine Dion, but she knows how to perform on stage. She knows how to sing, believe it or not.
"In the studio with her for the first time, I wasn't sure what to expect, but the girl can sing. And she loves the dance music so we made some nice music. And it was fun. That's the most important thing to have fun with the people you like."
Hilton is also working with LMFAO, Flo Rida and Snoop Dogg for her album.

Paris Hilton is set to make her public DJ debut at the Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil, sources have confirmed to Celebuzz.
Hilton, 31, will be the closing performer at the June 23 festival, which will also feature performances by fellow A-listers Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Clarkson.
“Paris is part of the tight-knit DJ group and has built some very good friendships including, Afrojack, Kaskade, David Guetta, Avicii, Tiesto, Swedish House Mafia, Calvin Harris, and Will.i.am. She’s had the opportunity to travel the world attending every festival and rave. Her music will be more than impressive,” sources said.
Just how hard has the heiress been preparing?
“Everyone is excited to book her! She provides another great attraction and a great reason for people to go to the clubs,” said another source.
Paris, who has DJ-ed privately for years, is said to be working “tirelessly” to get ready for the event, according to friends close to the hotel heiress.
Best known for her stints on reality television, Paris, last seen at the 2012 Coachella festival, released her eponymous music debut, in 2006, which hit the top 10 on the Billboard albums chart. The CD also spawned the hit single, ‘Stars Are Blind.’
Since it’s launch in 2011, the Pop Music Festival has quickly become one of the biggest attractions in the world. In addition to J-Lo and K-Clo, fans this year will be treated to performances by Michel Telo and Cobra Starship. Clearly, Paris is in good company!

Paris Hilton has a new job!
And it's not just about looking pretty on a red carpet.
She's also going to be following in Jennifer Lopez's musical footsteps—literally!
What's the hotel heiress up to? Read on for all the deets.
While it's been reported that Hilton is heading to next month's Pop Music Festival in Brazil to perform a new single, "After Midnight," I'm told that's not exactly correct.
Hilton confirms that she will be in Brazil to make her professional DJ debut in front of 30,000 people in São Paulo. The one-hour set featuring her own remixes will immediately follow performances by Kelly Clarkson and Lopez on June 23.
"Electronic music is a huge passion of mine and I'm finally letting the world experience it with me," Hilton says. "I have been working in the studio for a long time and ready to take deejaying to the next level. I chose Brazil for my debut because it is the country of music and dancing."
She hopes to spin at nightclubs worldwide. "I want everyone to fall in love with the beats like I have," Hilton says.
But it's not like she's giving up singing: Hilton is still working on a releasing a second album.

Billboard.com: After years on the banquette, Paris Hilton is taking it to the booth.
The nightclub-loving celebutante will make her DJ debut on June 23, at the 30,000-capacity Pop Music Festival in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The one-hour set will follow performances by Jennifer Lopez and Kelly Clarkson.
"I cannot wait to DJ for the first time in front of thousands of people," Hilton told Billboard exclusively. "I have been a part of the music scene and club scene since I was 15. It's something I have been passionate about and have come to respect very much. I am very excited to share all of my hard work with the world."
Over the last few months, Hilton has become a fixture on the international EDM circuit, appearing at clubs and festivals from Las Vegas to Ibiza, frequently with her boyfriend, Afrojack. She made the rounds with the hit-making DJ/producer in Miami this March, appearing in the booth beside him during his many performances, including on the main stage at the 50,000-strong Ultra Music Festival.
While she's never DJ-ed in public before, Hilton, now 31, has tried her hand as a dance music artist. "Stars Are Blind," the lead single off her 2006 debut album, "Paris," was remixed by EDM stars like Chus & Ceballos, Tracy Young and The Scumfrog, and hit No. 1 on Dance Club/Play Songs.
Sources say that her set will contain "custom-made remixes of the best tracks," and won't just be a one-off. "It is going to be the first of many!" said Hilton.
